ã¦ãƒã‚“ã•ãã¬èŠ± (Okinawan Folk Song)
Yuko Hoshi is an accomplished flutist, composer and arranger living in the Tokyo area. Flute Ensemble Anise is composed of four flutists. Yuko was the lead player from 2000 to 2004.
Hanauta was written by Yuko to be perfomed with three concert flutes and an alto flute. As the song sounds like humming, she has entitled this track Hanauta (or, the"humming" song). This beautiful tune will make you feel happy!
My Wild Irish Rose is an Irish traditional song well known around the world. She arraganged this song for two concerto flutes, an alto flute and a bass flute. The beautiful harmony will lift your spirits.
Yoka is Yuko's original song for four flutes and piano. This song is based on a traditional Japanese song called Sakura. She mixed jazz rhythm and improvisation with a Japanese sound.
Gekka is another of Yuko's originals, written during her visit to Maui in 2002. Gekka means 'moon flowers'. One evening, while inspired by a beautiful moonlight, ocean ripples and Hawaiian flowers, she wrote this song for Japanese Americans who paid her many kindnesses in Maui.
Tinsagunu Hana is a very popular Okinawan folk song. Yuko arranged this song for four flutes, an alto flute and percussion. This song will transport you to the beautiful landscape of Okinawa!
