What is 21 Crew?
It is the next step in a, already blooming, genre. The artists are mostly new, but there are some guest appearances from renowned artist. Getto, Ruben San, DJ Playero, Freddy Barbosa, Tommy Villarini, Anthony Carrillo, Lagarto and others artists will blow you away with their awesome performances.
In the musical aspect of 21 Crew you will be mystified by the fusions of the different genres that compile this musical production. Beside the usual disco reggaeton music you will hear: slow ballad, salsa, Cuban music, rock, techno, ethnical elements, bachata, classical music, rap, pop and other incredible elements.
Salsa-Hop is one of the most incredible mixes you will hear in "Mi Presa" which is obviously the mix between salsa and Hip Hop. The Brass section was performed by Tommy Villarini a renowned musical genius in salsa. The mix of this particular song was by world famous engineer Papo Sanchez.
Why is 21 Crew different from all the other reggaeton productions already in the market?
This Cd was produced with the guidelines of the music industry outside of reggaeton. The musical producers made sure everyone of the singer sang on key and without loosing the groove of reggaeton genre. This allowed this particular work to reach another level of musical production in the field of reggaeton music.
Also a very big difference in this production is the preference for live instruments instead of the digital ones used in the past. Bass guitar (upright and electric), electric and acoustic guitars, real choirs, real pianos (NOT PROGRAMED), trumpet, trombone, sax (alto and tenor), acoustic drums, congas, timbales, guiro, Cajon, Bata, chequere; are some of the instruments that were recorded live in the studio.. Being a musician myself for some years, I am proud to say that instead of replacing musicians for computers the genre has to evolve and integrate live musicians into the mix… so that’s what we did.
Another big difference is that the cd does not rely in big names to make good music. It is just sounds beyond any other reggaeton cd … at least the ones I’ve heard. It was meticulously made so that anyone and I mean ANYONE, who like music could enjoy it.
So I hope you enjoy the cd it was made by musicians with love and care. Ask for it. Listen to it. I know you will enjoy it.
