Te Quiero Y Te Quiero

Anita Alma was born in Loving, New Mexico, and since she can remember her world has been one of color, music and poetry. Her remarkable career has encompassed many areas of the arts. Her paintings are inspired works of art filled with the luminosity of a creative inner soul. Over the years her canvases have been exhibited at various summer art festivals in Los Angeles and Mexico City.

Anita also enjoys illustrating and writing children's books; her poems appear in several poetry anthologies such as The American Poetry Annual (1989) published by the Amherst Society, Windows of the World, published by the National Library of Poetry and Quiet Moments (1990), published by Watermark Press. Several of her poems also appear in Language of the Soul (1994), published by Creative Arts and Sciences Enterprises. A book of her Spanish poems, Etchings of My Soul, was published while she was living in Mexico City.

Anita is also a songwriter and performer. While in Mexico City, two of her songs were published by the Promotora Hispana De Musica and recorded by Peerless of Mexico. But she prefers to perform her music herself. Blessed with a beautiful low contralto voice, Anita interprets her songs with the same tenderness and great romanticism found in her paintings and poems and reflects the inspiration of a creative soul. She has given recitals at numerous cultural events, including local "Peñas" (Cultural cafes), throughout the city and also performed on two occasions at the University of Mexico City.

Anita Alma as Poet, Painter, Writer and Composer is truly a Renaissance woman. Blessed with the luminosity of a creative soul she has turned her effort towards young people, hopeful that in some small way she can help them to appreciate and be enriched by the arts.
