Cantor Deborah Jacobson completed her studies for her Masters of sacred music and her ordination at the H.L. Miller Cantorial School of The Jewish Theological Seminary in Manhattan in 2002. While studying for her ordination, she served as Cantor at the West End Synagogue in New York City. She served as Cantor at Temple Beth El of Stamford, CT from 2002-2005 and currently serves as Cantor at Temple Ahavat Shalom in Palm Harbor, Florida.
Deborah has been featured on Women’s Day TV on a segment about women in the clergy.
Deborah was seen in several off-Broadway plays, including "The Diary of Anne Frank," and a number of TV shows. Deborah had her own Cabaret show and sang in a number of noted night-clubs in California and New York. Deborah continues to entertain and inspire audiences with Hebrew and Yiddish music as well as favorite Broadway tunes at many Jewish Fundraising events throughout the country. Her book, Survival Jobs: 118 Ways to Make Money While Pursuing Your Dream, has been published in two editions (1996 self-published and 1998 by Broadway Books) and was a Quality Paperback Book Club selection. A new edition of this book, titled, 150 Jobs You Can Start Today, was published in October, 2003, by Broadway Books. Deborah has appeared locally and nationally on numerous TV shows such as Good Day New York, AM Northwest, and News 12 Westchester. She has been on over 60 radio stations across the country and has been featured in Magazines and Newspapers including Woman’s Own, Glamour, The Wall Street Journal and Self. Her first CD, Shabbat Unplugged, was released in June 2005.
